so yeah today i have some nice songs from LM.C to share with you guys xD
LM.C - that is Maya (*30.07.1979, vocalist and guitarist) and
Aiji (*14.11.1974, guitarist and backing vocalist).
Aiji (*14.11.1974, guitarist and backing vocalist).
Most songs of the young band are catchy and have a special style to them, which is typical for the duo. They don’t want to belong to a certain genre but rather choose their favorite elements out of different genres. Thus, a mix of rock, pop, and rap results with some influence from electro and techno. In combination with Mayas distinctive voice, LM.C has created a unique music style. They call it New Century Electro-Rock. The word is an invention of their producer.
Every song has its own topic, that’s why you can’t define the lyrics clearly. There are sad love stories, happy feelings, the ironies of society, as well as solutions for social problems - whatever is on the musicians' mind, they realize it in their music and lyrics. A new song forms from individual ideas and demos from Maya and Aiji. All the lyrics are from the vocalist Maya, who also plays guitar during studio recordings. The guitarist Aiji is often carried in the refrain as an additional vocalist. The roles of the two are not clearly defined, which affects positively the free style of the band.
LM.C’s appearance is colorful and influenced by Mayas sweeties. They work together with their designers in all discussions from designs for their CD covers and videos, to stage settings and always involve themselves.
The band’s story begins already in 2003 in form of a session band of ex-Miyavi-support-guitarist Maya. The musicians change in each show and it is the same for Aiji, who was a temporary member at first. Maya knows Aiji from his hometown, Nagano. A few years ago, when Aiji heard a demo of Maya for the first time which he found to be very interesting. He wants to help him in the music scene and so they teamed up. Originally, it was unscheduled for Aiji to join the project as a firm member. But when his old band Pierrot splits up in 2006, they decided to make the session-project a real band.
The name LM.C stands for the internet domain Lovley Moco-chang.com. There is no special meaning to it. Initially, when Maya was performing as a singer for the first time during a live rehearsal, the band needed a name and the musicians simply suggested everything that came to their minds. It should be a symbol without meaning. Of the initial form Loveley Moco-chang (by the way Maya’s dog’s name is Moco) the abbreviation LM.C is made.
Under the name of LM.C the band of Maya and Aiji soon gained popularity. The two guitarists were searching for a vocalist at first but as late, no suitable member for the part can be found. As a result Maya accepted the task and lends LM.C an unmistakable voice.
During summer 2006, they obtained the attention of the public by numerous appearances in the media. For example, the SHOXX-magazine or in TV at Beat Shuttle. Their first single appears in October as a double release. Trailers both gold and silver made it into the Top 20 of the Oricon Charts. The song “Little Fat Man Boy” even became an ending song to an anime.
At the end of the year LM.C already takes part in big festivals and after their second single in January 2007 is released, the first tour of the duo follows. In May, their first mini album “GLITTER LOUD BOX” was published while the promotional tour had its finale in Shibuya AX. In July, at Taiwan’s biggest rock festival FORMOZ, LM.C had their first show outside of their homeland Japan.
December followed with further single and double releases. LM.C is present in many magazines, TV, and radio shows witch helps promotes the band’s fan following.
Now, LM.C also seems to realize their international popularity. On July 3rd of this year, they have been at the Anime Expo at Battle of the bands 2008, in Los Angeles. Two days later, they performed their first overseas one-man in California.
In the early year 2009, they want to come to Europe as well.
